In short

Wattpass uses no cookies, no cross-site tracking and no analytics scripts, and stores nothing in your browser. Page views are counted anonymously on the server (see traffic statistics).

The site loads no content from third-party servers. Fonts are served from our own server.

The calculator and simulator run entirely in your browser. Your inputs are not sent to us.

Shareable scenario links keep your inputs in the part of the address after “#”. Browsers do not send that part to the server.

Hosting and delivery

The site is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA).

When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, browser details (user agent) and, where applicable, the referring page. This is used to deliver the site and protect it against attacks.

We keep no server logs of our own; logging for our Cloudflare Worker is switched off.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the site securely and reliably.

We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare under Art. 28 GDPR. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR). Retention and details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Traffic statistics

We count page views on the server to see which pages and tools are used. No script is loaded in your browser, no cookie is set, and nothing is stored on or read from your device.

Per view we store only: the page visited (without anything after it in the address), the domain of the referring site (e.g. “google.com”, not the full address), the country as reported by Cloudflare, and the language version. We do not store IP addresses or browser details; the browser identifier is only checked briefly so that search engine robots are not counted. This data does not let us identify individuals.

Counting runs in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine (data processing, see above). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is improving the site based on how it is actually used. Cloudflare also shows us aggregated figures such as the number of requests.

Contact form and email

If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we process your details (email address, optionally your name, your message) to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

Form messages and emails to our address are forwarded to our mailbox via Cloudflare Email Routing. Nothing you enter in the form is stored on the website.

We delete requests once they are dealt with, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Links to other sites

Source references link to manufacturer and retailer sites. You only connect to their servers when you click such a link; their privacy policy applies there.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
